Graduates earn 2,947 degrees, certificates from The New School

About 52.4 percent of the 2,947 degrees and certificates handed out by The New School in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in York conferred 858 bachelor's degrees and 419 master's degrees in visual and performing arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in fashion/apparel design. Data shows the school gave out 253 bachelor's degrees in fashion/apparel design, followed by 142 bachelor's degrees in fine and studio arts management and 126 bachelor's degrees in web page, digital/multimedia and information resources design.

The school enrolled 10,544 students for 2017-18, including 7,436 in undergraduate programs and 3,108 in graduate programs.
