Syracuse University Libraries will host "The Ideas Exchange: Sparking Innovation at Syracuse University" on March 4, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. The event will take place on the first floor of Bird Library and is designed for students interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity.

The Idea Exchange aims to be more than a networking event. It serves as an incubator for ideas where students can find inspiration, seek guidance, and connect with resources to advance their projects. Sponsored by SU Libraries, the Syracuse University NSF I-Corps, and the Orange Innovation Team, it targets aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.

At the core of The Idea Exchange is the Orange Innovation Team. This group includes Orange Innovation Scholars Ava Lubekmann, Jair Espinoza, Aidan Turner, Thomas O’Brien, and Intelligence ++ Scholars Isaac Munce and Trey Augliano. These student leaders have curated an experience that fosters collaboration and provides access to valuable campus resources.

The event features two main components: The Resource Emporium and Ask the Experts. The Resource Emporium will host information tables from various organizations providing resources for idea development, business startups, and creative projects. Participating groups include Blackstone LaunchPad, CASE–Center for Advanced Systems and Engineering, Couri Hatchery–Student venture incubation among others.

Ask the Experts will feature over 20 peer specialists and professionals engaging in small-group conversations inspired by “Human Library” events. These sessions offer students opportunities to ask questions from thought leaders across fields such as content creation and brand development.

The event concludes with a networking session from 4:30 to 5 p.m., allowing attendees to mingle while enjoying light refreshments.

"The Idea Exchange presents an unparalleled opportunity for students to tap into the University's vast network of innovation resources," according to organizers. Students are encouraged to attend if they have a business idea or creative endeavor they wish to advance.
