On Sunday, May 21, 2023, at around 11:35 p.m., officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded to the 400 block of West Newell Street for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, the officers located a 16-year-old male, who had been stabbed multiple times in the upper torso. The victim was rushed to University Hospital via an American Medical Response ambulance, where the emergency room staff made concerted effort to treat his critical injuries. Despite all efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at 12:52 a.m. this morning.
