Faculty and staff at Syracuse University who maintained a flexible spending account (FSA) in 2024 have until April 30, 2025, to submit eligible expenses for reimbursement. These expenses must have been incurred between January 1 and December 31, 2024. Additionally, up to $640 of unused funds from the previous year can be rolled over into a health care FSA for use in 2025. However, funds from dependent care accounts cannot be carried over to the next calendar year.

Health care FSAs provide tax savings on eligible health-related expenses for faculty, staff, and their dependents. Dependent care FSAs allow employees to contribute pre-tax dollars to cover daycare and related costs for a dependent child or adult.
