The City of Syracuse Department of Parks & Recreation has announced the opening of the public bidding process for the expansion of the East Woods Skate Plaza. The city is looking for qualified construction firms to undertake the project, which involves expanding an existing concrete skate park.
The East Woods Skate Plaza, initially built in 2013 and opened in 2014, has experienced a consistent rise in attendance. In 2022, the Parks Department actively engaged with the local community to gather feedback and evaluate the needs of the skate park to enhance user experience.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Engineering Conference Room at City Hall Room 405. Contractors will have an opportunity to visit the site following this meeting. Construction work is expected to commence in summer 2025. Proposals must be submitted to the City of Syracuse Division of Purchase at City Hall Room 213 by 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
