Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh has announced that the city will host four open houses to discuss the Vision Zero Initiative. This initiative aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries while promoting safety and equitable mobility for all residents. During these sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the city's goals for this initiative and review the Vision Zero Action Plan.

The open houses are scheduled to take place in each quadrant of Syracuse throughout February. These events form part of a broader effort by the city, which includes several initiatives such as the Municipal Sidewalk Program, supplemental sidewalk snow removal, automated enforcement in school zones, speed cushions, bicycle infrastructure, and signal updates.

Developing a comprehensive Vision Zero Action Plan is identified as a critical step toward achieving these objectives. The plan will emphasize outreach efforts, data analysis, and infrastructure evaluation to inform proactive safety decisions and investments in Syracuse.
