Mayor Walsh has addressed a recent incident involving Judge Pitts-Davis, who refused to perform a wedding ceremony for a same-sex couple. In his statement, Mayor Walsh emphasized Syracuse's commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

"Our vision for Syracuse is to be a growing city that embraces diversity and creates opportunity for all," said Mayor Walsh. He further stated that the judge's refusal "doesn't align with this vision and, importantly, doesn’t comply with state law."

The mayor called for the State Commission on Judicial Conduct to review the matter promptly.
