Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh on Common Council Authorization of Syracuse Housing Strategy:

“With the Syracuse Housing Strategy, we can empower city residents to fix up their homes and strengthen their neighborhoods. To maximize the impact of city investment, the strategy encourages neighbors to improve whole blocks of target areas together. That will make the City more attractive for home buyers and encourage greater investment to lift up more properties and neighborhoods. I commend the Common Council for authorizing the Syracuse Housing Strategy. It’s a plan that can have major near-term benefits and, with sustained commitment, can restore our housing stock citywide as the need for quality homes continues to grow.”
