Seasonal parking restrictions are now active in Downtown Syracuse, affecting overnight on-street parking. The restrictions, which run from November through March, aim to facilitate snow removal by alternating parking to one side of designated blocks between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. This change will see fines increase from $40 to $75 during this period.

The new regulations intend to improve access for vehicles and pedestrians by ensuring streets are clear of parked cars. Permanent signage has been installed to guide residents and visitors on permissible parking locations, reducing the likelihood of ticketing and towing.

Signage indicating these changes can be found near Hanover Square, M. Lemp Park and the Galleries, City Hall and the YMCA, the OnCenter and Equitable Plaza, as well as near the Landmark Theatre and Barclay Damon building.
