Syracuse University has recently welcomed six new members to its Board of Trustees. These individuals, recognized as innovators in their respective fields, come from diverse backgrounds with experiences as entrepreneurs, investors, executives and visionaries. The newly elected members are Nomi Bergman, Brian D. Grossman, Stephen H. Hagerty ’91, G’93, Allegra F. Ivey G’99, Jeannine L. Lostritto ’90 and Kirthiga U. Reddy G’95.
Board Chair Jeff Scruggs expressed his excitement about the new trustees' appointment, stating that they all have a connection to the Orange community either through personal experiences or family ties. He further acknowledged their extraordinary vision and expertise in various fields of interest and looked forward to their contributions towards student welfare and the university's continued growth.
Chancellor Kent Syverud echoed this sentiment by highlighting how trustees express their dedication in numerous ways such as sharing wisdom, experiences and generosity of time, talent and treasure to ensure the fulfillment of promises made to students regarding their success preparation.
The new trustees bring with them a wealth of experience and achievements:
Nomi Bergman is a senior executive at Advance and president of Advance/Newhouse Investment Partnership. She has held several executive roles in communications and emerging technology space focusing on transforming customer experience.
Brian D. Grossman is managing partner and chief investment officer for San Francisco-based PFM Health Sciences which focuses broadly across health sciences from small biotech firms to large global pharmaceutical companies.
Stephen H. Hagerty is a management consultant, entrepreneur and civic leader who founded Hagerty Consulting which helps large organizations prepare for disasters.
Allegra F. Ivey is a managing director at BofA Securities Inc., where she has served as a public finance investment banker for 15 years primarily covering large cities.
Jeannine L. Lostritto parlayed her interest in architecture into her professional, personal and volunteer experiences, most recently in her engagement with the board of trustees of Friends Academy in Locust Valley, New York.
Kirthiga U. Reddy is an entrepreneur and investor who has been at the helm of technology-driven transformations in innovative companies. She is CEO and co-founder of Virtualness, a mobile-first platform to help creators and brands navigate the complex world of Web3.
With their diverse backgrounds and experiences, these new members are expected to bring fresh insights and perspectives to the board, contributing significantly to the university's growth and development.
