Syracuse University has convened a task force, appointed by Vice Chancellor, Provost and Chief Academic Officer Gretchen Ritter, to reimagine its human dynamics academic programs. The Human Dynamics Task Force will focus on programs in human development and family science; marriage and family therapy; public health; and social work. The aim is to position these programs for future success by leveraging opportunities and expanding their impact.

These programs have traditionally been part of the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. However, as announced last month, this college has now become the David B. Falk College of Sport, focusing exclusively on sport-related disciplines.

"The human dynamics programs have played an important role in the history of our University, and have had a significant impact on the communities they serve," says Provost Ritter. "With the transformation of Falk College comes a unique opportunity to take a thoughtful approach to ensuring the future success of these programs and the continuation of that legacy."

The task force's first meeting is scheduled for May 28, with work set to continue throughout the summer. A final report will be submitted to Provost Ritter by the end of October.

Members of the task force include Lois Agnew, Rachel Razza, Colleen Cameron, Marcelle Haddix, Jody Levison-Johnson, Melissa Luke, Kenneth James Marfilius, Sharon Owens, Ian Richardson, Ann Rooney, Tracey Reichert Schimpff, Merril Silverstein, Yvonne (Eevie) Smith, Maureen Thompson, Dyane Watson and Ryan O. Williams.
