One Killed, Three Injured in Shooting on Bellevue Avenue

On Monday, May 29th, 2023, at around 9:47 P.M., Officers responded to the 400 block of Bellevue Avenue for a shooting with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 44-year-old victim, later identified as Demond Jones, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Jones was transported to Upstate in critical condition, and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. 

At around the same time, a 34-year-old male arrived at Upstate, by private transport, with a gunshot graze wound to the head, along with with a 42-year-old female who was shot in the leg. Both of these injuries are non-life threatening.

Another male, 44, was dropped off, by private transport, to Community Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg stemming from the shots fired location. There were multiple casings located on the scene, and a vehicle was struck by gunfire. 

The investigation is active and ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call the Syracuse Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
