Remember to keep the Halloween fun, and avoid any real life scares!
Sit down with your family and go over some basic, yet very important safety tips for Halloween, and make sure everyone has a ghoulishly good time!
Trick or treat in familiar areas with groups, and be accompanied by an adult.
See and be seen, by carrying a flashlight. Also use reflective tapes on costumes and bags.
Do not cut across yards, as “hidden hazards” may be lurking in the shadow. Stick to sidewalks and cross streets at crosswalks and intersections.
DRIVE CAUSTIOUSLY, obeying traffic signs and signals, keeping a lookout for children in and near streets.
Be mindful of costumes to ensure they don’t restrict seeing, hearing, or moving.
Do not eat treats until they are checked for tampering
Consider potential fire hazards when using decorations. Consider using battery powered or electrical lights instead of flames. Check lights for cracks or frayed wires. Discard any damaged sets. Don’t overload extension cords.
