Syracuse University is gearing up for the upcoming Syracuse WorkForce Run on June 10, at the Onondaga Lake Parkway. This annual 5K event, organized by the Syracuse University Wellness Initiative, offers a flat, down-and-back course and serves as a wellness opportunity for faculty and staff to engage in healthy activity and camaraderie.

Molly Morgan, associate director of health and wellness for faculty and staff, expressed the University's past successes and future goals for the event. “In 2022 and 2023, Syracuse University earned the distinction of having the largest team at the event among the dozens of local companies that participate,” she said. “This year, we are looking to regain that title with an incredible showing of our faculty and staff. We encourage employees of all abilities and fitness levels to come out for an evening of fun, movement, socializing and meeting new people from across the University!”

Registration for the event is open until May 6, with a fee of $21.50 subsidized by the University. Participants will receive a Syracuse University team T-shirt, an official race T-shirt, and access to a complimentary Mediterranean buffet. T-shirt and bib pick-ups are scheduled for June 9 and 10 at designated University locations.

In addition to encouraging employee participation, the initiative invites friends and family to join as individual participants by paying the full race fee of $55. Parking for attendees is available at NBT Bank Stadium with shuttle service provided.

This year's event will also support a charitable cause, benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York. For more information, participants can visit the Wellness Initiative website or contact wellness@syr.edu.
