A special event for children is set to take place at the Syracuse University women's basketball game on March 2. The All-Star Food Fest, happening at the JMA Wireless Dome, invites all children aged 12 and under to explore international cuisine.

The event begins at 3 p.m., ahead of the game against Boston College. Young attendees with a ticket can sample dishes from eight different countries and meet student-athletes who selected these dishes. Each child will receive a VIP pass and a passport detailing the athletes' home countries and their significant foods.

This initiative is a collaboration between Kalamata’s Kitchen, Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, Campus Catering, and Syracuse University Athletics. According to Sarah Thomas from Kalamata's Kitchen, "The All-Star Food Fest will allow children to taste, smell, and learn about the foods that are special to the students."

Featured foods include sausage rolls from Australia, bangers and mash from Ireland, rasta pasta from Jamaica, Käsespätzle from Germany, egg empanadas from Uruguay, chicken empanadas from Puerto Rico, poutine from Canada, and jollof rice from Liberia.

Additionally, the first 50 children will have an opportunity to meet Sarah Thomas in person and receive a signed copy of her book. The food festival concludes just before tip-off at 4 p.m., which also marks Senior Day for six departing seniors: Georgia Woolley, Saniaa Wilson, Kyra Wood, Izabel Varejão, Dominique Camp, and Lexi McNabb.

Tickets that include access to this cultural event are available through www.Cuse.com.
