Following a memorial service at Hendricks Chapel, Brian Konkol, vice president and dean of Hendricks Chapel, led a procession to the Place of Remembrance on December 21, 2024. The event marked the 36th anniversary of the Pan Am 103 terrorist bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, which occurred on December 21, 1988. This tragic incident resulted in the loss of 270 lives, including Syracuse University students returning from studying abroad.

The procession was joined by Devon Bartholomew, Baptist chaplain, and Sensei JoAnn Cooke, Buddhist chaplain. The memorial service honored those who perished in the bombing.
