Syracuse University Libraries has announced that Adam Fazackerley, a 1996 graduate of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, and Amy Fazackerley will co-chair the Libraries Advisory Board starting in fall 2024. The couple, based in Alexandria, Virginia, are co-founders of Lay-n-Go, LLC, which was listed on the Inc. 5000 list in 2022. They have been members of the Libraries Advisory Board since 2019.
Adam is also a general partner at Fortify.vc, a venture capital firm that funds early-stage technology companies. He founded concept2creation, LLC, a branding solutions company. During his time at Syracuse University, he was part of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Amy holds degrees from Denison University and Johns Hopkins University and has additional qualifications from Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. She has appeared as a guest host on QVC and on programs such as Good Morning America and Fox and Friends. In 2021, she was named an Enterprising Woman of the Year by Enterprising Women magazine.
“When we asked Syracuse University how we could help, we never thought our journey would have started in Bird Library," said Adam and Amy Fazackerley in a joint statement. "From our initial interactions with students from the Blackstone LaunchPad and the leadership at Syracuse University Libraries, we knew we found a home.”
The couple emphasized their commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs through mentoring and program development at Syracuse University's Blackstone LaunchPad.
The Fazackerleys take over this role from Judith Mower ’66, G’73, G’80, G’84 who has been involved with the board since its inception in 2007 and served as chair since 2015. Mower will continue to be an active member of the board.
“I am eternally grateful for Judy Mower’s leadership and expertise,” said David Seaman, dean of libraries and University Librarian. “Judy was at the helm of the Libraries Advisory Board when I was appointed to my role... Through her direction and example, the Libraries has excelled.”
Seaman expressed enthusiasm for Adam and Amy's new roles: “I am so excited to welcome Adam and Amy as our new co-chairs... With our strong Libraries Advisory Board, I am confident that we will continue to grow and prosper.”
