Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay announced he will host the fifth annual Local Landscapes and Landmarks visual art exhibit, featuring artists from the 120th Assembly District. The event aims to showcase Central New York’s natural beauty and historic landmarks. The exhibit is presented in partnership with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and CNY Community Arts Center.

"Each year, I look forward to seeing the exceptional display from local artists. Their work always captures the natural beauty of the 120th district. From stunning waterways to famous landmarks and vibrant parks, the creativity and vision each artist brings to the table is inspiring and is a true testament to their skill and dedication to their craft. I am looking forward to meeting the artists and I’m thrilled to once again partner with the Chamber of Commerce on a project that highlights the charm of our community and our local talent," said Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski).

The exhibit will accept watercolors, photography, original prints, pen and ink, acrylic, and pencil work. Submissions are due by Oct. 14 at Leader Barclay’s District Office at 19 Canalview Mall, Fulton, NY 13069. Participants should include contact information and a brief description of their work taped on the back of their art.

Artists residing in Oswego County, southern Jefferson County, and northern Cayuga County are eligible to participate. A map for eligibility can be viewed online.

The art show is free to enter and will be juried. Local restaurant gift cards will be awarded to first and second place artists in painting and drawing, photography, and other works based on submissions.

Following the exhibit's conclusion, selected artworks may be displayed in the Legislative Office Building in Albany until April 2025. Artists will be contacted when their art is ready for pickup.

The exhibit will take place at CNY Arts Center at 121 Cayuga St., Fulton, NY 13069 on Oct. 24 at 6 p.m., with refreshments provided for attendees. For further inquiries, contact Leader Barclay’s district office via email at barclayw@nyassembly.gov or by phone at 315-598-5185.
