Congressman Brandon Williams (NY-22) joined the Civil Air Patrol’s Congressional Squadron on Saturday during a visit to their facilities at Griffiss Airpark. The Congressional Squadron is a unique, nonpartisan volunteer group comprised of Members of Congress, congressional staff, and aviation professionals in support of CAP’s work in emergency operations and youth development through education and skills training.

“For decades, Civil Air Patrol has performed crucial work, both in aiding disaster-stricken areas across New York and in training the next generation of leaders to do the same. Their programs in aviation education and community service have had a positive impact on countless youth and, by extension, on the countless individuals whom they go on to serve,” said Rep. Williams.

Rep. Williams was presented his membership certificate and ID after a facilities tour and showcase led by local cadets. The event featured demonstrations of their latest equipment, aircraft, vehicles, communication systems, and new emergency mobile command unit. It culminated in a familiarization flight over New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
