Onondaga Community College's School of Health has a broad array of new and expanded opportunities for students interested in a health-related career. The programs include:

  • Health Sciences - This is a new degree program designed in collaboration with SUNY Upstate Medical University to ensure seamless transfers there. Career options include Medical Imaging, Radiation Therapy, or Respiratory Therapy.
  • Health Studies Certificate - This is a new certificate program which prepares students to work in a medical or insurance office, or create the foundation for students to be accepted into OCC's Nursing, Surgical Technology, or Physical Therapist Assistant degree programs.
  • Nursing - We've added a section of night and weekend classes to our degree program to give more students more opportunities. We also offer dual admission options with SUNY Upstate Medical University.
  • Physical Therapist Assistant - Students learn how to help patients regain range of motion, strength, and mobility.
  • Health Information Technology/Medical Records - Students become proficient at using current information systems to collect, analyze, disseminate, and maintain patient data. This is a rewarding career which requires medical knowledge but does not require direct care.
