Cost of college went up for all students at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2018-19 at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York residents paid $8,874 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $331 more than the $8,543 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 110.2 percent more than residents this year, or $18,654. Their price tag grew 2.5 percent from $18,193 in 2017-18.

About 78 percent of the school's undergraduate population are New York residents. About 21 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 289 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.1 million and 179 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,220), 1,438 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.7 million, and 888 students took out $5.7 million in federal student loans.
