57 percent of applicants to The New School were admitted for fall 2018

At The New School, 86 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 75 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in New York enrolled 10,544 students in fall 2018, including 7,436 in undergraduate and 3,108 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

13 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 55 percent are residents of other states. 27 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (33 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (12 percent).

The school admitted 57 percent of the 9,911 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
