Syracuse University’s annual Giving Day is set to take place on Wednesday, March 27, inviting members of the Orange community to unite and support the university. The day is an opportunity for individuals to demonstrate their unwavering Syracuse spirit and show their support for dedicated students.
Among the activities planned for the Giving Day, ESPN college football reporter Kayla Burton G’19 will be hosting live shows from campus starting at 9 a.m. at the JMA Wireless Dome. Supporters are encouraged to tune in to witness some of the best of Syracuse University.
Participants can also stop by the Schine Student Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to make a $5 gift to the Annual Fund and enjoy free iced coffee while filling a color-changing stadium cup. In addition, there will be various treats and merchandise available at select locations.
For those seeking a challenge, they can engage in a campus-wide hunt to Find Otto, where plush Ottos will be hidden around campus. The first to locate one will win a prize pack, with each discovery resulting in a $100 donation to a chosen fund, matched by the Chancellor Challenge.
Other activities on the agenda include cheering on the women’s lacrosse team, exploring student organizations at the Student Organization Showcase, and participating in the Giving Power Hour to support various groups on campus.
As the day culminates, participants are invited to celebrate Syracuse University in the JMA Dome with Orange mocktails at 11:44 p.m., followed by the Forever Orange Celebration on Thursday, March 28 at the Schine Student Center.
The event aims to empower individuals to support areas of the campus that resonate with them, unlocking challenge dollars to maximize the impact of their contributions. The collective efforts of participants worldwide are set to showcase the power of unity and generosity within the Orange community.
