Buffalo, NY – Canisius College is among the top institutes of higher education to earn a 2023-24 Military Friendly® Schools designation. The Military Friendly Schools® list is produced by Viqtory, publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine, and recognizes the top colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students, and to ensure their success on campus.  Military Friendly® Schools is considered the most comprehensive resource for veterans today.

The Military Friendly® Schools list is evaluated based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools, and responses to the proprietary Military Friendly® Schools survey. Survey questions, methodology, criteria and weighting were developed with the assistance from an independent research firm and advisory council of educators. Final ratings are based on student retention, graduation rate, job placement, loan repayment and default rates, and persistence (degree advancement or transfer), and then provided to service members and their families to help them select the best college, university or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career.

Founded in 2001, Viqtory Media is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through its G.I. Jobs® and Military Friendly® brands.

One of 27 Jesuit universities in the nation, Canisius is the premier private university in Western New York. Canisius prepares leaders – intelligent, caring, faithful individuals – able to pursue and promote excellence in their professions, their communities and their service to humanity.
