Onondaga County Sheriff's Office - Week One of the 2022 Youth Law Enforcement Academy Has Come to an End Already!

230

So, Week One of the 2022 Youth Law Enforcement Academy has come to an end already!  Here is a little peak at what the cadets have accomplished in that short amount of time. They started the mornings off with physical fitness training and learned how to stand at attention as well as march in formation. They were taught by the Academy Staff on how to write police reports. They learned about Patrol functions and how to conduct traffic stops as well as DWI investigations. They met with members of the K9 Unit and interacted with K9 Bliss and K9 Higgins. They also learned how to process a scene with our Crime Scene Evidence Technicians. The were taught defensive tactics. They met with Air1’s flight crew and got a close up view of the helicopter. They took a tour of the Correction Department (Jamesville Correctional Facility) and even got a chance to meet Sheriff Conway.

A special thank you to academy instructors Deputy Katie Kruger and Deputy Betsy Lehmann!

Enjoy the pics from Week One! Week Two will begin on Tuesday with SWAT!
