Mayor Ben Walsh has appointed Jakia Durham Kelly as the new Executive Secretary. In this capacity, she will handle executive communication, schedules, and events for both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Additionally, her responsibilities include maintaining records and overseeing office operations to improve administrative productivity.
Durham Kelly brings three years of experience in city government to her new position. Prior to this appointment, she was the Office Administrator for Neighborhood and Business Development (NBD).
Her educational background includes degrees in sociology from Syracuse University and criminal justice from Herkimer County Community College. She is also a certified Notary Public.
