Rep. Brandon Williams, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York's 22nd district, has recently shared his views on critical minerals and international energy dependencies through a series of tweets. Williams, who succeeded John Katko in 2023, emphasized the strategic importance of securing mineral resources and fostering energy partnerships.

On December 3, 2024, Rep. Williams tweeted about China's economic strategies: "China has declared economic war on America, cutting off access to critical minerals (Ga, Ge, & Sb) essential for tech and defense industries." He expressed concerns over the reliance on China and Russia for these essential materials.

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, he highlighted the necessity of securing a supply of various critical minerals: "We must secure our supply of Critical Minerals, including gallium, germanium, antimony, indium, uranium, lithium, cobalt, and others." He stressed their importance for maintaining leadership in defense technology and artificial intelligence.

Additionally, Rep. Williams addressed international nuclear energy relationships: "Our allies prefer the United States as their source for nuclear technology and fuel." He underscored that such relationships influence global reliance on either American or Chinese-Russian clean energy solutions.
