Oswego County is mourning the loss of a Sheriff's Deputy who died in the line of duty. Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay expressed his condolences and shared his thoughts on the tragedy.
“It is with profound sadness we learn Oswego County Sheriff’s Deputy has died while in the line of duty," said Barclay. "My prayers are with the family and loved ones of our fallen officer in this tragic time. This is devastating news for the brave members of the Sheriff’s Department and for the entire Oswego community."
Barclay emphasized the risks law enforcement officers face daily, stating, "Day in and day out, our members of law enforcement put their lives on the line to protect the people of New York. Too often they make the ultimate sacrifice." He urged everyone to honor those who dedicate their lives to public service.
