Syracuse University Libraries has announced their services for the end of the Spring 2024 semester, offering various initiatives to support students during this busy period.
According to the announcement, Bird Library will have extended hours during this time, with the lower level up to the second floor remaining open 24 hours a day, while the third through fifth floors will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
One of the services being provided is the "Food for Fines" program, where patrons can donate healthy, nonperishable food and hygiene items in exchange for a reduction of their library fines. The donated items will go to the Hendricks Chapel Food Pantry. The fine reductions vary depending on the item donated, ranging from $1 to $4 per item.
In addition, students are invited to attend "Donuts with the Dean" on Tuesday, April 30 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bird Library, where they can meet Dean David Seaman and enjoy coffee and doughnuts.
Furthermore, the Libraries will also set up a "Positivity Station" on the first floor of Bird Library from April 30 to May 10, offering stress relief incentives and activities such as goodie bags, positive notes with candy, buttons, coloring pages, and snacks.
