WASHINGTON — Congressman Brandon Williams (NY-22) released a statement today commending the Madison County Board of Supervisors for their recent decision to pass a resolution regarding waste management.

“I would like to commend the Madison County Board of Supervisors for their vote of support for keeping the county landfill under the control of county residents and taxpayers. Forming an ad hoc committee to perform research and properly advise the board regarding the operation of this award-winning solid waste disposal site is both prudent and practical,” said Congressman Williams.

“This will ensure that residents can count on a reliable, long-term solution to managing the needs of nearly 70,000 citizens of Madison County. When I saw the site in-person, I was impressed with how well the landfill was managed. I appreciate the board’s commitment to keeping the citizens of Madison County involved in the decision-making process,” he added.

The resolution passed by the Madison County Board of Supervisors signals a proactive approach towards waste management, with a focus on involving the local community in decision-making processes. The creation of the Madison County Waste Management Ad-Hoc Committee aims to provide valuable research and guidance for the efficient operation of the county landfill.

The commitment of the board to prioritize the interests of county residents and taxpayers in managing solid waste disposal sites has been met with appreciation from Congressman Williams, who recognizes the importance of local involvement in such critical matters.

The passing of this resolution highlights a collaborative effort between local government officials and federal representatives to address waste management concerns in Madison County, ensuring a sustainable and community-focused approach to the management of solid waste.
