• Avoid solo outings, but if you go alone, be careful and go to familiar areas
• Check the weather forecast
• Dress properly and prepare for the worst possible conditions
• Inspect your hunting equipment before and after each outing, and maintain it properly
• Clearly identify your target before shooting
• Wear blaze orange to be highly visible to other hunters
