On June 3, local radio control club “Syracuse Thunderbirds Aero Radio Society S.T.A.R.S” hosted Liverpool High School Drone Tech, Graphic Communications, and Broadcasting classes. Members of the club provided demonstrations and also conducted discovery flights on a buddy box system. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team was invited to participate in the event. The Sheriff’s Office setup a station so the students could learn about the Sheriff’s Office Unmanned Aircraft Systems program and it’s equipment. Students were also given the opportunity to operate and see how the drone's thermal camera operated.
