Patrick Sowa, M.D., has joined the vascular surgery team at St. Joseph’s Cardiovascular Institute in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Sowa brings experience in vascular, endoscopic, and laparoscopic surgery to the award-winning group.
Dr. Sowa earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University and graduated magna cum laude. He received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. He completed his general surgery internship at Rush University Medical Center and residency at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Most recently, Dr. Sowa finished a vascular surgery fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Sowa holds certifications in endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures and has contributed as co-author on publications about lymphoma, pancreatitis, and bovine tissue use in vascular surgery.
