Graduate transfer Tyi Skinner will join the Syracuse women’s basketball team for the 2026-27 season with one year of eligibility remaining, according to an April 23 announcement from the program. Skinner brings experience from several collegiate teams and is recognized as a dynamic scoring guard.

The addition of Skinner is significant for Syracuse as she arrives after a career that included stops at Delaware, Arizona State, and SMU. Her performance at each school has marked her as a top player in women’s college basketball.

“We are so excited to have Tyi join our Orange family,” Syracuse Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. “Her ability to push pace, pass to our bigs, and knock down the three-ball is impressive. She is a tenacious defender, leader, and winner! I love how she can make a friend anywhere she is. You will love her energy and tenacity of purpose. Orange Nation, please help me welcome Tyinhia Skinner to our family.”

Skinner began her college career at Delaware where she earned Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team honors by averaging 8.8 points per game as a freshman and was named to the WNIT Charlotte All-Region Team. In her sophomore year, she led Delaware in assists and three-point shooting while increasing her scoring average.

She later transferred to Arizona State University where she became one of the top players in the Pac-12 Conference by averaging 19.3 points per game during her junior year—ranking second in the conference and twenty-seventh nationally—and received All-Pac-12 recognition from both coaches and media members. After missing one season due to injury, Skinner returned for the 2024-25 campaign with strong performances that earned her All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors while playing all thirty-two games for Arizona State.

Throughout her career, Skinner has scored twenty or more points in twenty-six games and has maintained over thirty-eight percent shooting from three-point range during healthy seasons. Her arrival adds size, experience, and proven scoring ability to Syracuse following what was described as its most successful season under Legette-Jack.
