The Syracuse University women’s basketball team will host Auburn on Wednesday, December 4, at the JMA Wireless Dome. The game, scheduled for 5 p.m., is part of the ACC/SEC Challenge and will be broadcast nationally on ACC Network.
Syracuse currently holds a 6-1 record and is aiming to extend its five-game home winning streak. Auburn enters the contest with an 8-1 record. Historically, Auburn has won all five previous meetings between the two programs, with their last encounter in 2004.
Fans attending are encouraged to participate in a Toys For Tots drive by bringing new, unopened toys to donate. Collection boxes will be placed outside Gate C on the west exterior esplanade before tip-off.
This matchup is Syracuse’s third appearance in the annual ACC/SEC Challenge. The Orange have split their previous games in this series, defeating Alabama at home in 2023 and losing to Texas A&M on the road in 2024.
Syracuse comes into the game after a win over Howard, where four players scored in double figures. Uche Izoje had a standout performance with a career-high 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. She became the first freshman nationally since 2022 to achieve those numbers in a single game and is also the first Syracuse player to do so since 2020.
The team’s offense has been led by Laila Phelia (13.3 points per game), Uche Izoje (12.4 ppg), and Dominique Darius (11.9 ppg). Izoje’s recent effort against Howard included seven blocks along with her scoring and rebounding totals.
Auburn arrives following its only loss of the season—a close defeat to Oregon on November 30. The Tigers are under new leadership this year with head coach Larry Vickers, who previously coached at Norfolk State for ten seasons.
After facing Auburn, Syracuse will travel to Dallas for its ACC opener against SMU on Saturday, December 7.
