National Ice Cream Day is approaching on Sunday, July 20. To mark the occasion, the Syracuse University News team visited ’Cuse Scoops at Drumlins Country Club to sample their specialty sundaes.

The offerings included a variety of flavors. The Banana Pudding sundae was praised by Kelly Rodoski: “Banana pie lovers rejoice! This creation was an absolute delight, starting with the unconventional base of banana pudding ice cream and loaded with nostalgic ‘Nilla Wafers and oozing with caramel sauce. I loved every single bite!”

Diane Stirling described the Chocolate-Covered Strawberry as “a super sweet treat,” noting that it featured “lovely chocolate hard ice cream topping tasty strawberry sauce.”

John Boccacino enjoyed the ’Cuse Brownie sundae, stating it was “a flavor sensation from top to bottom” with its combination of brownie pieces and chocolate fudge sauce.

Jen Plummer highlighted Otto the Orange for its presentation in a plastic baseball cap and said, “You can never go wrong with orange sherbet—especially on Syracuse’s campus.”

Kathleen Haley found the Peanut Butter Explosion sundae to be a perfect blend of nutty goodness and chocolate decadence: “The peanut butter is front and center with the hot fudge blending perfectly around the edges of each bite.”

CJ Munoz appreciated the S’mores Sundae for its graham cracker and marshmallow flavor complemented by crunchy chocolate pieces.

Amy Manley called the Unicorn Sundae an “enchantingly fun treat” for its Instagrammable pink pastel swirls and sugar cone ‘horn.’

’Cuse Scoops is open to visitors at Drumlins Country Club, located at 800 Nottingham Rd., Syracuse. The shop operates Tuesday through Friday from 3 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m.
