Syracuse University Libraries have announced their regular hours for the Fall 2025 semester, which will be in effect from August 25 through December 16. Details about the full schedule can be found on the Libraries’ website at https://library.syracuse.edu/hours/.
Bird Library’s lower level to second floor will operate 24 hours from Monday through Thursday, closing at 10 p.m. on Fridays. The facility will open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays starting at 10 a.m. Floors three to five will be available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to midnight, Friday until 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday until midnight. The sixth floor, which includes the Special Collections Research Center, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Access after 7 p.m. requires a valid Syracuse University or SUNY-ESF ID.
Carnegie Library will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday until 6 p.m., and weekends from noon to 8 p.m.
King + King Architecture Library hours are set for Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday until 6 p.m.; Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.; and Sunday up to 11 p.m.
The College of Law Library will operate Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays until 5 p.m., and remain closed on weekends.
The Libraries are also participating in several Welcome Week activities as students return for the fall semester:
“Family Lounge outside of Bird Library (Einhorn Walk side) and Carnegie Library (Shaw Quadrangle entrance) on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and Thursday, Aug. 21, from noon to 4 p.m. each day,” according to organizers. “Students and their families and supporters are invited to take a break from moving into the residence halls to learn about the Libraries.” Snacks, beverages, library information, and tours by request will be available during these sessions.
A Pre-Welcome Resource Fair is scheduled in Bird Library on Wednesday, August 20, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Book Club Meetups are planned in Bird Library on Friday, August 22 (from 10 a.m.–noon and again at 2–4 p.M.), as well as Saturday morning.
Welcome Fest takes place in Bird Library’s first floor on Wednesday, September 3rd between 11 a.M.—3 p.M.: “All students are invited to attend this open house-style event with tables highlighting the many offerings of the Libraries, several partners and other campus departments,” organizers stated.“Students can stop by to participate in raffles, snacks and a ‘passport’ activity encouraging participants to visit all tables.”
