Syracuse University Libraries is currently inviting undergraduate and graduate students to apply for its Student Library Advisory Board for the Fall 2025 semester. Interested students must be active and in good standing at the university, irrespective of their year or discipline. The deadline for application submission is May 6. Successfully selected participants who complete all assignments during the fall semester will receive a stipend of $250.
The board serves as a platform for students to provide feedback and ideas to enhance the library’s services, resources, spaces, and programs. Board members are expected to take part in user experience activities during monthly meetings held on Fridays. They will also act as ambassadors for the Libraries within the student community.
Participants in the advisory board will have opportunities to build leadership and skills in fields such as information literacy, communication, civic responsibility, research, and creative thinking. This will occur through engaging and interactive sessions, requiring a commitment of roughly three hours each month. However, students already employed by the library are not eligible to apply.
The initiative receives support through a collaboration with The Syracuse Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Engagement (SOURCE). Inquiries can be directed to sscott17@syr.edu.
