Members of the Syracuse University community participated in the Central New York Pride Parade to celebrate Pride Month. Otto, the university’s mascot, joined them on June 21.

In other events, Orange students, faculty, alumni, and friends gathered at Yankee Stadium for SU Day to watch a game between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles. The Hall of Languages was surrounded by blooming orange flowers as summer began.

The “On My Own Time” art exhibition showcased works from faculty and staff, including pieces by Ronald Thiele, Scott Samson, Richard Breyer, Joseph Stoll, Kathleen Pascarella, Erin Beiter, Meghan Graham, and Marie Luther. These artworks will be displayed at the Everson Museum of Art from October 4 to November 9.

The university held a reception for participants in this year’s art exhibition. Notable works included “Sunrise or Sunset Shawl” by Megan Graham and “Orchid Wail” by Jaime Banks.

Faculty and staff engaged in outdoor activities on the Quad through an event sponsored by the Wellness Initiative in partnership with Outdoor Recreation. Additionally, employees enjoyed iced coffee during a pleasant day on campus.

The women’s rowing team achieved 12th place at the 2025 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship. Meanwhile, Otto cheered for participants at the Syracuse WorkForce Run on June 10.

Student inventors with Invent@SU continued developing prototypes during an open house event. Libraries staff contributed food and hygiene items collected through “Food for Fines” to Hendricks Chapel’s Coach Mac Food Pantry.

The College of Arts and Sciences hosted a staff barbecue where members played Connect 4 on the Quad. Students from the School of Information Studies presented research to the SEC Crypto Task Force in Washington D.C., highlighting technology’s intersection with policy.

Garden Managers Erica Howard G’26 and Alyssa Quinn G’26 worked on irrigation systems at Pete’s Giving Garden. Dean Behzad Mortazavi mingled with staff during a College of Arts and Sciences barbecue event.

Syracuse University marked Memorial Day with an exhibition in Bird Library titled “In Remembrance on Memorial Day 2025” and held a wreath-laying ceremony outside Hendricks Chapel.

The men’s lacrosse team celebrated securing their spot in Championship Weekend after defeating Princeton Tigers in a close match during NCAA quarterfinals.

Syracuse Stage hosted “Little Women,” concluding the Department of Drama’s season performances for 2024-25. The Martin J. Whitman School of Management honored several individuals during its Awards celebration in New York City.

Falk College students embarked on an Olympic Odyssey study abroad trip across Europe to explore Olympic history and culture. They shared updates via olympicodyssey2025.blogspot.com.
