The Syracuse Orange softball team will host Colgate University for a midweek doubleheader at Skytop Softball Stadium on April 15. The games are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

This matchup is significant as both teams look to improve their standings in their respective conferences. Syracuse currently holds a record of 14-17 overall and stands in 13th place in the conference, while Colgate enters with a 20-21 overall record and sits third in the Patriot League.

Syracuse recently won two out of three games against Boston College, highlighted by Julianna Verni’s career-high 13 strikeouts on Friday and Madison Knight’s ninth home run of the season. Other notable performances included Gabby Lantier’s fifth multi-hit game and Grace Weaver’s career-high 15 putouts. In Saturday’s extra-inning win, Kaylee Eubanks hit her first career double, Rose Cano delivered an RBI single as a pinch hitter, and Jadyn Burney added another single to right field.

Colgate comes into the series after being swept by Boston University last weekend but saw home runs from Nora Megenity and Lily Haluska during Sunday’s game. The Raiders have secured series wins over Army and Holy Cross this season, swept Lehigh, split with Binghamton, and defeated Boston College—an opponent common with Syracuse—in non-conference play last year.

The upcoming games mark the 15th and 16th meetings between Syracuse and Colgate since their first contest on April 10, 2001. Syracuse leads the all-time series with ten wins to four losses; most recently, they swept a doubleheader against Colgate at home on April 10, winning both games.

Following Wednesday’s doubleheader against Colgate, Syracuse will remain at Skytop Softball Stadium to host Notre Dame for a three-game series from April 17 through April 19.
