Syracuse’s Tomas Hut earns spot on All-South Region Second Team

Syracuse men’s soccer goalkeeper Tomas Hut has been named to the NCAA Division I Men’s All-South Region Second Team, according to an announcement from the United Soccer Coaches association.

Hut, who is from Nutley, New Jersey, started all 20 matches for Syracuse this season and played a total of 1,800 minutes. He recorded 76 saves during the season. Among his performances was a career-high nine saves in a match against NC State during the second round of the ACC Championship.

The United Soccer Coaches also released its full list of All-South Region award recipients. The First Team included Logan Erb (NC State) as goalkeeper and players such as Will Cleary (Stanford), Nikola Markovic (NC State), and Slade Starnes (Southern Methodist) among others. Hut was recognized as the Second Team goalkeeper alongside defenders Kamran Acito (Duke), Braden Dunham (Furman), and Dylan Kropp (North Carolina). Other members of the Second Team include midfielders Jefferson Amaya (High Point), Zach Bohane (Stanford), Charles-Emile Brunet (Southern Methodist), Taig Healy (NC State), and forwards Fletcher Bank (Stanford), Wahabu Musah (Clemson), and Stephan Soghomonian (Southern Methodist).

The Third Team featured Alex Svetanoff from Louisville as goalkeeper along with other players representing various universities.
