Syracuse University lacrosse players Emma Muchnick and Coco Vandiver have been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, an honor recognizing the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States.
The Tewaaraton Award was established in 2001 and is considered one of the highest honors in collegiate lacrosse. The selection committees are comprised of leading collegiate coaches appointed each year by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
Muchnick enters her senior season as a Preseason All-American and All-ACC pick. She played as a midfielder for Team USA during the offseason. Last year, she earned All-American and all-conference honors after scoring 41 points and 31 goals, leading Syracuse in goals for the season.
Vandiver, also a senior, was named both a Preseason All-American and an All-ACC selection. In the previous season, she recorded 40 caused turnovers—the second-highest single-season mark in program history.
Syracuse will face No. 1 North Carolina on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in its conference opener. Tickets for the game can be purchased at Cuse.com/Lacrosse-Tickets.
