The Syracuse men’s rowing team concluded its fall racing schedule at the Cornell Fall Classic on Saturday in Ithaca, New York. The Orange competed against Cornell in a 4,000-meter head race on the Cayuga Inlet.
Syracuse’s Varsity 8 crew recorded the fastest time of the day during the first of two flights, finishing in 11 minutes and 57.2 seconds. The team made minor lineup changes between flights but maintained its lead over Cornell across all boat classes.
For many Syracuse freshmen, this event marked their first official race for the team, while it was the last appearance at the Cornell Fall Classic for senior athletes.
The Orange will now focus on winter training as they prepare for their spring season.
