Syracuse University men’s lacrosse is ranked sixth in both major national polls as the team prepares for the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Lacrosse Tournament, according to an April 27 announcement.
The ranking comes after Syracuse lost to top-ranked Notre Dame last week, causing the Orange (11-4) to drop one spot in both the USILA Division I Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. The team’s performance this season and its standing in these polls will be important as it enters postseason play.
In the USILA Coaches Poll, Syracuse earned 465 points and is just behind North Carolina, which holds fifth place with a 15-point lead. Notre Dame leads with 598 points and received most of the first-place votes. Princeton follows in second place with Richmond and Cornell rounding out the top four teams. In addition, thirteen of Syracuse’s regular season opponents were mentioned in this week’s poll.
On the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, Syracuse collected 334 points—21 fewer than fifth-ranked North Carolina. Notre Dame also tops this poll with Princeton second, Richmond third, and Cornell fourth. Twelve of Syracuse’s opponents appeared on this list as well.
Syracuse will begin defense of its 2025 ACC title as the third seed against second-seeded North Carolina on Friday, May 1 at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. The semifinal match is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start on ACC Network with Drew Carter and Matt Ward providing commentary alongside Dana Boyle on sidelines coverage. The other semifinal features top-seeded Notre Dame versus fourth-seeded Virginia earlier that evening at 5 p.m., while winners from both semifinals will compete for the championship Sunday at noon.
