Syracuse Stage has detailed its upcoming 2025-26 season, promising an array of theatrical productions that include new works, revivals, and a world premiere. The season will unfold from September 10, 2025, to June 21, 2026, featuring six main stage shows along with various educational and community-focused events.
"We’re thrilled to announce an ambitious and exciting season of powerful theatrical stories for Central New York," said Robert Hupp, the artistic director at Syracuse Stage. The selections aim to provide unique theatrical experiences tailored to Central New York audiences.
The season kicks off with "The Hello Girls" from September 10 to 28, 2025. This musical, inspired by the first women to serve in the U.S. Army during World War I, is a collaboration with Michael Cassel Group and is directed by co-writer Cara Reichel. Following this, "The 39 Steps," a comic take on a Hitchcock classic, takes the stage from October 22 to November 9, 2025.
The holiday production will be "A Christmas Story," running from November 25 to December 28, 2025, marking a directorial debut for Hupp in this festive season role.
"Relentless," written by Rae Binstock, will premiere from February 4 to 22, 2026. Directed by Melissa Crespo, the drama explores themes of legacy and loyalty within the boxing world, in connection with the nearby International Boxing Hall of Fame.
In a return to the works of August Wilson, "Joe Turner's Come and Gone" will run from March 11 to 29, 2026. Directed by Timothy Douglas, this production marks the seventh in Wilson's Century Cycle to be showcased by Syracuse Stage.
The season concludes with "Disney's Frozen The Broadway Musical," which runs from May 13 to June 21, 2026. This production is a collaboration with Syracuse University’s Department of Drama, directed by Amy Anders Corcoran, and marks Frozen's professional stage debut in Central New York.
Managing Director Carly DiFulvio Allen expressed enthusiasm for the production, stating, "We are so excited for families to experience ‘Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical’ live on stage for the first time in Central New York."
Additionally, the season will feature an assortment of related programming, such as "Prologue" conversations, talkbacks, community engagement events, and relaxed performances tailored to enhance audience accessibility. Support for education and community outreach will include live performances of "My Robot" for schools, promoting socio-emotional learning and STEM education.
