Syracuse mayor responds to double homicide with condolences

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh has issued a statement following a double homicide on Roney Road. The mayor expressed his condolences and support for the victims' families, saying, “The tragedy on Roney Road is beyond comprehension. The family and loved ones of the victims have been constantly in my thoughts. I am sending them sympathy and prayers.”

Mayor Walsh praised the efforts of Syracuse Police officers and first responders who were present at the scene. He acknowledged their bravery and noted the emotional impact of their experiences that night: “Having been on the scene on the night of the murders, I know our Syracuse Police officers and all the first responders were heroic in their work and are deeply impacted by what they experienced.”

The mayor also commended community members for their role in apprehending the suspect: “I would also like to recognize and thank the members of the community who spotted the suspect and called it in. Their vigilance led to his quick apprehension and will ensure he is brought to justice for this heinous act.”

Mayor Walsh concluded by urging residents to offer strength and support to those affected by this incident.
