50 percent of applicants to Syracuse University were admitted for fall 2018

At Syracuse University, 97 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Syracuse enrolled 22,803 students in fall 2018, including 15,226 in undergraduate and 7,577 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

30 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 56 percent are residents of other states. 14 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (57 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (9 percent).

The school admitted 50 percent of the 34,981 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 21 percent enrolled.
