St. Joseph’s Health has introduced a new Respiratory Therapy Residency Program in Syracuse, New York. This 12-month initiative aims to support and develop recent graduates as they begin their careers in respiratory therapy.

The program is inspired by a similar residency established in 2024 by St. Peter’s Health Partners in Albany. It represents a broader commitment from Trinity Health New York to invest in the future of respiratory care professionals. The curriculum includes mentorship, clinical rotations, and hands-on learning experiences in high-acuity care settings. Participants will work with experienced therapists to gain the skills needed for success in a hospital environment.

“Launching this program at St. Joseph’s Health helps us create a consistent and supportive pathway for new graduates to enter the field with purpose and preparation,” said Brandi Ewing, Regional Director of Respiratory Services at St. Joseph’s Health and St. Peter’s Health Partners. “It strengthens our workforce and improves continuity of care for our patients.”
