The 2025 Winston Fisher Seminar, hosted by AlphaSights in Manhattan, provided a group of 17 undergraduate students from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs an opportunity to explore potential career paths. The seminar, an annual initiative founded in 2006 by Winston Fisher, brings students from various disciplines to New York City to gain real-world insights into business careers.
Throughout the week, students developed and presented business plans and toured prominent employers, including Penguin Random House, Major League Baseball, and Morgan Stanley. The event also offered them significant networking opportunities with recruiters and alumni.
Winston Fisher remarked on the experience, saying, “Connecting with the students throughout the week, hearing their business plans and learning about their aspirations is truly one of the highlights of my year. As a firm believer in the power of a liberal arts education, I’m excited to see where their journeys take them and the impact they’ll have on the world.”
Matt Wheeler, director of employer and alumni engagement, highlighted the importance of the seminar by saying, “There’s no substitute for the first-hand knowledge and experience Winston’s seminar provides. In addition to gaining insight into the professional world and entrepreneurship, students build lasting relationships with peers and accomplished members of our alumni community.”
The seminar included various activities, such as a session at the Fisher Brothers with Winston Fisher and an alumni panel led by Kate Abogado at Deloitte. Additionally, Seth Cohen, a psychology and forensic science major, had an opportunity to interact with Charlamagne tha God on the set of The Breakfast Club.
