Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh’s initiative against negligent property owners has achieved another successful outcome. A ruling by New York State Supreme Court Judge James P. Murphy mandated James Street Plaza LLC to rectify over two dozen code violations at a mixed-use establishment located at 3100-06 James Street in Eastwood. Additionally, the court imposed a $90,200 judgment on the property owner for failing to address these issues for more than a year and a half.

Mayor Walsh stated, “Most landlords are good. Some are not. Our Code Enforcement inspectors are holding bad actors accountable every day. When recalcitrant property owners like James Street Plaza won’t live up to their responsibilities, our lawyers stand ready to seek court intervention for compliance.”

The issues at 3100-06 James Street include lead paint violations, absence of carbon monoxide detectors, unsanitary conditions, and electrical system hazards. Judge Murphy established a detailed timeline that requires the property owner to resolve all the violations by September 19, 2025.
